Privacy Policy

We use TikTok Login (TikTok Login Kit) to authenticate users.

When you connect your TikTok account, we receive: your open_id, union_id, display name, avatar URL, and profile_web_link. We use this to confirm which TikTok account is connected and to show it back to you on your dashboard.

We use the TikTok Display API to fetch the public view counts, thumbnails, captions, and creation dates of TikTok videos you submit to our platform. This is how we track a video’s progress toward the reward tiers a business has set.

We do NOT post to your TikTok account, send messages, or modify your TikTok profile in any way.

• user.info.basic — Display the creator’s avatar and display name on their dashboard so they can confirm the right account is connected.
• user.info.profile — Read the creator’s @handle to verify they own the TikTok account submitting videos to our rewards program.
• video.list — Read view counts on videos the creator submits, to track reward-tier progress (NOT to discover their other videos).

We request only the scopes above — the minimum needed for the service. We never request posting, uploading, or other write permissions.

• To verify your identity and that a submitted video genuinely tags the participating business.
• To track public view counts so the right reward tier unlocks as a video grows.
• To show the participating business the creators and videos in their program.
• To operate, secure, and support the service.

We share the information needed to run a program (your TikTok handle, avatar, submitted video, and its view count) with the specific business whose program you join. We use service providers — cloud hosting and payment processing (Stripe) — that process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.

• TikTok access & refresh tokens: kept only while your account is connected; deleted immediately when you disconnect or delete your account.
• Video stats (views, thumbnails, captions): kept while the related program is active and for up to 12 months afterward for reward history, then deleted or anonymized.
• Account profile data: kept until you delete your account.
• After account closure: personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or financial obligations.

You can revoke our access at any time at https://www.tiktok.com/setting/connected-apps and request deletion of your data by emailing privacy@perkwave.app.

You can also delete your account directly: open your profile and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, TikTok tokens, submitted videos, and reward history. We action email deletion requests within 30 days and send a confirmation once complete.

We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit. TikTok tokens are stored securely and used only to provide the features you authorized.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact us at the email below to exercise them.

PerkWave is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by TikTok and applicable law in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
